After being out of Australia coming up to 4 years it’s good to be back. With so much that’s going on in the Australian Flatland scene with Newcircle & the Down Underground National Contest Series I’m so stoked to be getting involved & helping flatland grow even more!
I’m gonna be living in Brisbane which has one of the strongest scenes in Australia so loads is gonna be happening!

I am very pleased & proud to announce the introduction of Australia’s premiere online flatland specific BMX store, Newcircle.
Long time friends Shane Badman & Ross Lavender have teamed up to bring riders in Australia, a place to get all their flatland needs from Colony & much more in the future. They are also set up to export to the world to any country. I believe this is going to be a huge benefit to the local flatland scene & I am excited as to what the future may bring.
Click here to find out all about Newcircle now & while you are there support some fellow Aussie riders & buy some stuff !!

Thought I would let you all know of some of the travel plans the team have going on now or very soon…
Tim Wood was in Singapore last weekend for some demos at a brand new concrete park there, it was amazing park according to Tim. He took a bit of a spill on the vert bowl there but is OK.
Nick Richardson is off to the USA for 2 months to stay at Ryan’s house in Greenville. Expect some good things to come from Nick while over there. Nick also recently put together a nice new 2010 Gnarkill Frame.
Zac Miner & Liam Fahy-Hampton are off to China at the end of the month for an invitational comp over there in Beijing. Should be interesting.
Shane Badman is due back to Australia soon after a few years in Europe.
Mick Bayzand is also coming home in October after 18 months in Canada. It will be good to have him back in Australia.
I am off to the US in a couple weeks for Interbike. So looking forward to the Nora Cup party once again, just not the day after.

After spending nearly a year in Sweden it was time to get moving. It’s been well over 3 years now since i’ve been living in Europe & i’m starting to lose track of the countries that i’ve visited & lived in. Never forget the riders that i’ve met, nor the riding sessions that i’ve had though… funny how some things stick in your mind?!
I’m in Hungary at the moment just chilling & riding as much as I can. Living in Sweden was great, but winters that last 6 months & very few riders make it tough for any nomadic BMXer. Hungary is awesome for riding. The weather rocks 9 months of the year & all the riders are super motivated – probably a reason I’ve been here every year since 2005. I’ve been staying with one of my good mates, Andras Pentek, who co-owns OG Bike Company. In between him running the business & their shop, we’ve been hitting up spots all over the country including the OG Summer Camp & Contest in Szombathely & visiting riders in a bunch of different cities.
I’ve got another week of riding here & then off to the sunny UK for more riding… stay tuned!

I have known Shane Badman ever since we started out as penpals (yes, before email existed) & we would write letters back & forth exchanging flatland trick tips & riding photos for years there. I am very stoked to have Shane as an integral part of the Colony flatland program & even more stoked to be able to offer Shane his first signature frame, the Cube.
Shane is known to be rather tough on frames, or any part for that matter, so we set out to make him a bullet proof flatland frame that would hold up to his brand of riding. I think we achieved it with this frame. For the full details click here now.
While you’re at it, you might as well check out the new Australian Flatland blog by clicking here as well.

Shane Badman sent in an email with a few pics of what he has bene up to of late. Read on below…
The harsh northern winters of Europe arn’t great for riding. Living in Sweden is awesome but with snow becoming an all too familiar sight & the temperature currently around -12C during the day sometimes you gotta make the big call. So 4 airports, 3 flights & 22 hours in the air later I landed back in Australia to warm summer weather & white sandy beaches. Word.
It was a great being back in Aus. Coming back to visit never leaves you with as much time as you’d like, but we were still able to get to Melbourne for a Jam that was put on by a bunch of the locals – big thanks goes out to Paul Chamberlain & crew for putting it all together. While in Melbs I also managed to hook up with world renowned photographer Chris Polack for a shoot. Getting the job done at Imax & down at St Kilda was great with an impromptu demo going down for the locals at the beach – look for upcoming shots in future issues of Rebelyell!
So I’m back in Sweden now riding in my warehouse that I have for the winter. I’m taking care of a few projects & also planning for some of this years trips – stay tuned for further updates!

Shane Badman sent me an update on what he has been up too of late… read on below.
After finishing up the shows in Egypt, visiting Cyprus, Hungary & the UK, I’ve settled myself down for the moment in the south of Sweden with my lovely girlfriend Jo. We live in a small town called Staffanstorp which will be our home for the next little while. Even though we live in Sweden, we’re about 30 minutes from Copenhagen in Denmark & a few hours from Germany. Unfortunately, I’ve not come across any other riders in the area, so if there are any out there holla at me! In between learning some Swedish & riding I also dug up some footage I had lying around from around 2000. Check it out below.
