Where are you from?
Hamburg/Germany
Date of Birth:
11th of October 1981.
What got you into riding?
The movie E.T. and a guy who did flatland in the little village I grew up in. I sat on a bank near by a school and watched him riding everyday for about a month and then I couldn’t hold it anymore. I started working as a newspaper boy and working in a little zoo, cleaning up cages of birds, rabbits and chinchillas, saved up all the money and bought a bike.
What motivates you to go out and ride all the time?
Just that feeling of being on my bike and doing manuals and bunnyhop’s on the way to the skatepark. Just this feeling to have the freedom to do whatever I want and get out of this everyday life. Being with my mates and perceive life in a different view.
What style of riding do you enjoy doing the most?
I like ramps, either wooden or concrete and also dirt is fun. I am not too much into street but I love watching it and also once in a while I make friends with a curb or some stairs but the friendship always doesn’t last that long, ramps just don’t hurt that much haha can you say pussy?
Do you have any interests outside of riding?
I go to the gym to stay in shape and help me ride a bit longer. I am heaps into music, tattoos, art and reading.
Favourite Colony product?
It’s hard to pick just one product because I have the bike I’ve always wanted and everything on it makes it look like a beautiful lady haha but I remember before I was even riding for colony, when the official stem came out I had to have it and also Clint gave me a transformer lever at the Rebeljam in Berlin, I can’t imagine riding another lever, it’s perfect!
What do you do for a job?
I pretty much have 3 jobs, I ride my bike, I work in kids daycare centre for a couple hours a week and I work part time in a porn store. I know it’s sounds crazy but it’s a way to make money and my bosses are stoked about BMX and give me time off whenever I need it. I always pick the weirdest jobs haha but being ordinary is boring.
Bands you listen to:
I am into heaps of different styles and bands, music is a drug like riding my bike. Just to name a few: Art of War, Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Spit Syndicate, Sienna Skies, The Devil Wears Prada, My Own Private Alaska, Enter Shikari, Shels, Norma Jean, The National, The Streets, Innerpartysystem, Iamx…
Tell us something about your local scene:
The scene isn’t too big and most often the people split up in groups. We have the ones with brakes, without brakes, street riders, ramp riders and the ones who just talk shit all day. I guess it’s just how it is these days, the kids start with tailwhips instead of tailtaps, all that matters is what bike you ride, if your sponsored, if you can do backflips, what pro do you know and if you’ve been at the x-games haha. I am honestly doing my thing and I am riding with whoever has as much fun on that little kids bike as I do. I don’t care about trends too much, all I want is to have a good time while I am living this part of life called youth and I am very thankful that my sponsors are helping me enjoy this time to the fullest.
